One group, several companies

Handshake operates as a group of companies, so the consolidated group revenue of over €60M won't appear in any single subsidiary's registry filing — for example, the main operating company Handshake Finland Oy (Y-tunnus 2304112-0) reported €31.4M revenue for 2024. The group is held under Handshake Group Oy. We mention this so the registry picture is clear from the start.

We combine importing, in-house product refinement, online retail and a reseller network into a single growth engine — running fulfilment on a lean mix of a 3PL main warehouse and our own warehouse in Sweden. That keeps us scalable without heavy fixed investment.

Our story

From a flashlight webshop to €60M+ — profitable every step.

It started in 2009 with a single webshop selling flashlights. Revenue grew from €1.6M in 2011 to over €60M today, at roughly 38% average annual growth, with an operating margin above 10% in all but four years — and not a single loss-making year along the way.

  1. 2009

    Founded in Oulu

    The first webshop is taskulamput.fi, selling flashlights.

  2. 2013

    Valostore & Sweden

    Passes €2.5M revenue; rebrands taskulamput.fi to Valostore and enters Sweden by acquiring loit.se.

  3. 2014

    Autodude launches

    Car-care store reaches near €1M in its first year and adds a counter-season to lighting.

  4. 2015–16

    Nordic expansion + lean logistics

    Valostore to Norway; Autodude to Sweden & Norway. Logistics outsourced to a Turku-based 3PL — the key to scaling without big warehouse investment.

  5. 2021

    Into Denmark

    Valostore and Autodude expand to Denmark.

  6. 2022

    Fitness joins the group

    Acquires a Hollola-based fitness company (~€3M revenue). The group is around €36M at the time.

  7. 2023

    Europe & Motivon

    Launches English-language valostore.com across Europe; the fitness store is renamed Motivon and expands to Sweden.

  8. 2025

    Among Finland's largest

    On 2025 figures, Handshake Group is challenging Finnish Design Shop as Finland's largest pure-play e-commerce company.
